Tenrikyo's Dynamic Mission - HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE THIS RECIPE?

QuicklyQuickly is one of the most often repeated instructions given in the poems Tip of the Writing Brush. Generally it comes in two forms. In the first form God is in a hurry to help us to spiritually awaken by providing us with examples of ways to quickly expose the core of our mind. The "core" cannot; however, be exposed as long as there are thoughts covering it. Our human thoughts move very fast tumbling around one after the other and so if we are going to succeed in calming our thought, we also have to move both deliberately and quickly.  In the second form God is hastening us to quickly follow the instructions for revealing the core of our mind and once revealed, by testing and spiritually awakening to the truth of origin that awaits us there. I imagine that in both cases quickly is about priority and asks if our priority for awakening matches God's priority to help us to do so.  There are after all many other things that we could do with our time. The Tenrikyo Model contains a number of honest recollections of the kinds of misunderstandings that flowed from being too busy to follow the instructions for quickly awakening.

Quickly

But my teachings can be seen quickly.
This will be the proof that cannot be denied.

The "Test for Proof"

Though I desire to put in the pillar quickly,
I cannot find where to put it because of the muddy water.

I have told you before about the test for proof,
but you do not even understand what the Kanrodai is about.

The is a huge difference between a path that asks us to believe something or another and a path that promises a quick "test for proof"

Let's take a look at the metaphors appearing in these poems and settle their intended meaning.

Water = human mind

Muddy water = a human mind full of self-centered thoughts and common truths of the world

Pillar / Kanrodai stand = the human self-centered imagination - In the first, problematic, case the pillar - Kanrodai is unable to find a firm stable foundation because that foundation is hidden by the "muddy water". This is the equivalent of the statement that our current human condition is such that we are lost in the darkness of our self-centered imagination and lack the knowledge of a sure way home.

Pillar/Kanrodai stand = the human self-centered imagination - in the second, universal salvation case - The muddy water having been settled to be the mind like clear water; revealing the original firm foundation of our self-centered imagination; the Kanrodai can be set up on that original foundation and our self-centered imagination provided with the intended joyous life.
