Tenrikyo Dynamic Mission - A THING LENT
This universe is the body of God.
Ponder this in all matters.
All human bodies are things lent by God.
With what thought are you using them?
My answer to the question "what thought are you using them?" Is the natural one that my body is my body and I am using my body as I like.
The idea that my body is a thing lent is not new to me as it was taught as a part of my childhood training. In that view what I am calling my body is actually owned by God and I am mearly acting as a temporary steward of it.
It followed then that the proper method of stewardship involved adhering to various ancient, moral and ethical, codes, rules and commandments that were established as the foundations of the kinds of truths of the world that were then current in the society that I was raised in.
I want to emphasize that those ancient moral and ethical teachings and the truths of the world that are founded on them are not what the fundamental teaching that the body is a thing borrowed and lent is not what the teaching that the Reason of Heaven is about.
The Teaching that is the Reason of Heaven intends to reveal a truth that is deeper than any human thoughts. That truth is the very origin of all thought and is not itself a thought. This is called awakening to the knowledge and understanding of the truth of origin as it exists at the "heart" and "core" of the human mind.
The Teaching that is the Reason of Heaven also makes the claim that this teaching can be tested and proven. Unfortunately there are common expectations that arise from truths of the world that are very ancient and deeply imbedded in the long human journey thus far. Those common expectations get in the way of the test for proof. To test and prove the truth of the teaching it then becomes necessary to find a way to temporarliy quiet, settle, turn off our ordinary thought process, our internal dialog, in order to consciously reveal its source.
Check it out for yourself. When all ideas are quiet there is no thought of separation. The nature of that original consciousness is called "joyous life".
