Speaking of the past compilation and understanding of the Doctrine "Kyoten":
"...[T]here was tendency for the middle aged or older to consider the former "Doctrine" as something separate from faith. I feel that this was one big blot on our life of faith. In general usage, "doctrine" is a term applied to a standard reference book presenting a doctrine and indicating proper patterns of belief. In our case, however, it was not so. ...Of course, it is not as if the former "Doctrine" had nothing in common with the teachings. Yet, I believe that the spirit with which it was compiled was in error."

Although our sincerity is accepted, sincerely held thoughts and beliefs that were seen as absolutely true yesterday, after we have faithfully followed the instructions and awakened our mind to single-hearted salvation; those same truths and beliefs, when newly seen in the light of their true origin, might no longer be seen by us as being as absolutely true today.
Recognizing that fact, we can appreciate that this Reconstruction Doctrine of Tenrikyo is itself a work in flux. Making the Doctrine of Tenrikyo less of something to be believed and more of a dynamic document compiled with the intended goal of trying to find ways for us to awaken and consent to work instrumentally in opening new paths of single-hearted salvation, "Kami-Ichijo for other minds.
The need for that work is in response to our prayers and pleas for relief. And the way of awakening single-heated salvation is shown in order to complete the construction of the human mind, so that it can function in accord with the original intention in its creation. That intention being the enjoyment of a joyous life for all human beings equally.
